NORTH HAVEN, CT – MossbergCorp  is proud to introduce the 990 SPX Magpul, a 12-gauge, 3-inch semi-auto tactical shotgun designed to deliver proven performance with modern enhancements for today’s shooters. Built on Mossberg’s latest semi-auto platform, the 990 SPX Magpul blends rugged reliability, advanced ergonomics, and accessory-ready versatility in a compact, easy-handling package.

The 990 SPX Magpul is driven by a robust gas-operated system housed entirely within the forend, engineered for smooth, consistent cycling across a variety of ammunition types. Critical internal components—including the gas piston, magazine tube, hammer, and sear—are treated with nickel-boron coatings and specialized finishes to enhance corrosion resistance and durability. Functional enhancements include an enlarged, beveled loading port, elongated pinch-free elevator, and a high-visibility anodized orange follower. A top-mounted safety, oversized and ergonomically shaped, is easily accessible for both right- and left-handed shooters and features a clearly visible red indicator.

Designed with modularity in mind, the 990 SPX Magpul features the SPX handguard, providing a rigid, heat-resistant platform with integrated QD cups and M-LOK® slots for mounting lights, grips, and other accessories. Shooter controls are optimized for fast, intuitive operation and include a knurled charging handle, oversized paddle-style bolt release, and a refined tang-mounted safety switch.

The 990 SPX Magpul is also equipped with an optic-ready receiver cut, allowing direct mounting of micro-dot optics. A winged front fiber optic sight completes the sighting system, offering rapid target acquisition and seamless co-witness capability with mounted optics.

Ergonomics and shootability are further enhanced with the inclusion of a Magpul SGA® stock, providing a stable, adjustable interface designed to fit a wide range of shooters. The SGA stock delivers improved recoil management, a secure shoulder weld, and mounting options for slings, while maintaining the streamlined handling characteristics of the platform.

With the introduction of the 990 SPX Magpul, Mossberg continues its commitment to innovation, reliability, and tactical performance—delivering a premium semi-auto shotgun that combines modern features with proven Mossberg durability.

The new 990 SPX Magpul from Mossberg (Item#83009) will be arriving at Gallery of Guns soon. It carries an MSRP of $1,309.
